Daniel played a policeman for two years on the long-running British TV series The Bill and is thoroughly enjoying walking to a very different beat as DSC Simon Joyner on City Homicide.

“I am very excited about Series Three of City Homicide. The show continues to grow and improve. It remains dynamic and gritty and I am very proud of it,” says Daniel.

“For any Australian drama to survive to a third series is an incredible achievement, but for the show to be still improving, refining and getting slicker, is an achievement that I am very pleased with. I think we all feel that way.

“Simon continues to mature as a policeman - less gags and shags and more hard work. His brotherly relationship with Matt is strengthening each episode, but I think as a young man he still battles with the pressures of Homicide,” explains Daniel.

Since making his mark on Neighbours - for which he received a Logie award for Most Popular New Male Talent in 1999 - Daniel’s career has criss-crossed the globe and several genres with leading roles on Tripping Over, Blackjack (with City Homicide co-star Aaron Pedersen), as well as hosting The X Factor in 2005 and Channel Seven’s Dancing with the Stars.

After being nominated for the British National Television Award for Best Newcomer in 2003, Daniel starred opposite legendary actor Edward Woodward on the stage in "The Mysteries" in London’s Canterbury Cathedral to rave reviews.

In 2008, Daniel was named GQ Magazine’s Television Personality of the Year.
