Aaron Pedersen made a welcome return to the policing world and Australian television drama when he commenced work on City Homicide in 2007. The well known actor has relished in channelling all his energy into Duncan Freeman, the hot-blooded detective whom he describes as an “unknown entity”.

With great dramatic credentials to his name, including The Circuit, MDA, Wildside, Water Rats, Blackjack and The Secret Life of Us, Aaron believes it’s the fantastic scripts and actors on City Homicide that have resonated with Australian audiences.

"We are fortunate as actors to be able to immerse ourselves in the lives of such strongly developed characters and the bonus for us, is that the audience has joined us on that journey," says Aaron.

Aaron – who started his career as a journalist - has also received praise for his lead role in the six-hour SBS mini-series, The Circuit, set in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. He returned to WA at the end of 2008 to record The Circuit’s second series.

His acclaimed and awarded documentary My Brother Vinnie, which Aaron wrote and starred in, explores his close relationship with his brother Vincent, who has a mild intellectual disability and cerebral palsy. The heartfelt documentary won awards at the 2006 Melbourne International Film Festival, 2007 St Kilda Film Festival and the 2007 Sydney Flickerfest Film Festival.

Aaron is an experienced thespian with a Green Room Award for Best Male Actor for his 2002 role in “Conversations With The Dead” (Playbox Theatre Company). In the same year, he was also awarded the Sidney Myer Performing Arts Indigenous Individual award, while in 2003 he scooped the Deadly Award for Male Actor of the Year.
