Paul can belt out a mean tune with his barbershop quartet. He’s the tenor (the one that sings in the girliest voice) and the youngest member by about 30 years.

With something of a Benjamin Button phenomenon going on, Paul admits to spending more time with older people because he feels less intimated.

“Young vitality is exciting, but I don’t feel I’m able to enter social interactions with people my own age,” he says.

“I feel like I’m missing out a bit. I don’t have the tools necessary to ask girls out. I don’t feel like I present myself in a way that will get a favourable response so it’s a bit of a risky prospect.”

Currently studying for his PhD in economics, Paul admits he’s never been on a date before.

“With work and school and barbershop, I just don’t have the time. Plus I can’t make a connection, at least not quickly enough for them to want to get to know me. My better qualities take longer to grow on a person.”

Aside from his musical tastes, Paul also admits to dressing like an old man too. Big glasses, braces, baggy trousers and loafers are all in his cupboard.

“All of my clothes are too big because I thought it would motivate me to gain weight. But I haven’t so I need to wear braces to keep them up.”

“I’m really looking forward to being the dominant male in a group. I will be the alpha male; everyone will follow me and I’ll get all the girls.”

I didn't think this guy was a geek at all. There is something about doing something extreme, for example, absailing, sky diving, etc. that gives you an inner confidence in yourself. Give it a go and you'll be amazed at how the girls become interested. But most of all, do it for yourself.

nuuuu! i was rootin for Paul. I guess they were probs the least outgoing couple so the ppl were playing favouritsm. they got rid of all the asians lol.

yeah, i sorta agree with email.person23 since i am asian too. i don't understand why they were in the elimination room twice in a row - elise and paul have never won a challenge and they were just starting to get to know eachother more. paul was my favourite geek - he was so cute! i love his smile and he's really funny!
