Vince and Betty are pretty fit for their ages so we challenged to work out in a gym with a personal trainer. The trainers took them through their paces in the following activities:

• Warm-up exercises
• Spin session
• Treadmill
• 3 x resistance training machines
• Weight training
• Boxercise

Our Grey Nomads were impressed to find that the training wasn’t complicated but were pleased tha the trainers took them through the machines quite carefully. Betty learned that resistance training is good for the elderly as it builds bone strength. Vince thought the leg press was the best because it’s aimed at stomach/abs and lower back, which is where he has problems.

During the boxercise session, Vince accidentally got bumped in the face. Betty got revenge on his behalf and the trainer ended up in deep water!
 
The trainers from SLM (Strategic Lifestyle Management) which is on the 10th floor of the studio building at Martin Place, had a lot of fun taking Vince and Betty through their paces.
