Australia's Got Talent

How it Works

How it Works

Three strikes and you're out!

During the Australia's Got Talent heats the judges have a buzzer in front of them which they use to 'strike' the act from continuing.

Approximately 24 acts perform per episode and the judges select acts they think worthy of making it through to the next stage.

At the beginning of the semi-final episodes the judges will make their final decision on just who will get a chance to perform in that week's semi-final. Not all successful contestants from the heats will be offered a position.

In the semi-final episodes two finalists will be chosen per episode to go through to the Grand Final. The judges will choose one act and the viewer vote will decide the second.

What the devil is wrong with Tom Burlinson. I have always been a huge fan of his work and think he is one of our great underated secrets. But I have to say that after hearing him speak on You've got talent I have changesd my mind - He speaks like a red neck hick from the Bronks with a throat problem - whats with the fake yank accent Tom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! another sellout to america!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Not sure who's the director but there are too many crowd reaction shots for my liking during the acts. We're watching the acts to see the acts - not the crowd. Less shots of the judges during the acts would be good as well - after all we get to hear their opinion after the act is finished.

Im not one to log in to say a tv show is good or not, But this is the best thing ch 7 has ever done. Sack youre ugly bettys and desperate bloody housewives garbage. If ch10 can play 25 hours of big brother a day you can give us more of this. Brilliant Show.

Okay - so the idea is great. Bring on a few acts and get audience reaction.

But why do we see so much of the audience and of the judges? What a waste of television!

And why the heck do we get told of 'other acts' that were shown and passed? Quite frankly, the show's current format is not sufficient to make me watch again.

24 acts per episode? What a crock! We might tune in again next week, but if after 15 minutes it's the same as tonight, we'll definitely tune out!.

I love talent shows but Australian television has taken a huge step backwards this is one of the worst shows I have seen in a long time. What an insult to the few performers who actually displayed real talent.

Found the facial enpressions of the 2 male judges to be a bit homophoic to towards a couple of the contestants.
