Australia's Got Talent

Judge - Dannii Minogue

Judge - Dannii Minogue

29 years ago, a seven-year old Dannii made her Australian television debut, singing and dancing on the popular variety show Young Talent Time. Fast forward to 2008 and Dannii is flipping the coin and joining Red Symons and Tom Burlinson on the judging panel for the second series of Australia's Got Talent.

In early 2007, Dannii made a return to her roots in Australia for the premiere series of Australia's Got Talent and found her extensive experience helped her place her feet firmly under the judging table. Having received international Home And Away acclaim, performed an award-winning role in Notre-Dame De Paris, delivered a commanding portrayal of Rizzo in Grease and released four award winning studio albums (Love And Kisses, Get Into You, Girl and Neon Nights), Dannii has one of the most impressive lists of credits, that is longer than she is tall!

With the recent release of Touch Me Like That (Dannii Minogue vs Jason Nevins), Dannii has also made chart history; by clocking up her twelfth number 1 club hit (no other female artist has ever achieved this). Dannii's debut single Love And Kisses raced into the Top 10 in 1990, but it was her 1997 release of All I Wanna Do that started her string of club hits. In 2001, the legendary Pete Tong approached Dannii to record the infectious Who Do You Love Now? harnessing Dannii's love for dance music. This was quickly followed by her biggest-ever hit I Begin To Wonder and Madonna then sealed Dannii's place at the top in 2003, by allowing her song Into The Groove to be used for the bootleg remix of Don't Wanna Lose This Feeling; the first time Madonna had ever said 'yes' to any artist.

"Queen of The Clubs" is not the only notch on Dannii's belt. In June 2007, Dannii joined the judging panel of The X Factor (UK) alongside Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh. Dannii mentored three contestants; two of who reached the final and one of who went onto become the winner! Dannii, is notably, the first female judge to lead a team to victory in this history of The X Factor. Even Simon Cowell had to admit, "Dannii Minogue really kicked our arse this year!" This fourth series went on to become The X Factor's most successful year, smashing the already amazing record of 12 million viewers. Subsequently, the show has been named the most popular entertainment show of 2007 in the UK.

Dannii is excited to be back in Australia and on the path to finding and nurturing more of the amazing undiscovered talent that this country holds.

Dannii says "There is no way I could have believed that this show could get any crazier. The talent is world class and the diversity is unlike any other show on Australian TV. Make no mistake, the competition will be fierce!"
