Daily Variety picked the talented Velazquez as one of "Ten Actors to Watch" in their 2005 special issue, and USA Today named her "One of Five Rising Stars to Watch Closely." In addition she was picked by Entertainment Weekly for their summer "Must List," nominated for an ALMA award for Best Supporting Actress, and included in People En Espanol's 50 Most Beautiful People, all in the past twelve months.

Prior to her role on the hit NBC series My Name Is Earl, Velazquez spent her first three years in Hollywood honing her skills in Biker Boyz, Chasing Papi, Sueno, Entourage, The Bold and the Beautiful, Las Vegas and The Last Ride opposite Dennis Hopper.
