With $400 to his name, Isaac came to Australia from New Zealand four years ago as a bright-eyed 18-year-old.
"I wanted a change of scenery and to better myself," he says.
Isaac left school early at age 15 and trained to be a chef. He completed his studies and worked briefly at a small seafood restaurant, but the hours and nature of the work got the better of him.
Now after building a life for himself in Melbourne, he is working as a concreter.
His only passion before he recently discovered modelling was body-building, but on the advice of fashion industry experts, he has lost a large portion of his bulk.
"My main thing was the gym, but I've been told that you can't get much work if you're too muscular, so I've cut down on the workouts and eating less," he says.
Now Isaac regards his toned swimmer-like physique as his greatest asset along with his independence.
"In the last four years I've found out so much about myself," he says. "I discovered how independent I can be and I've learned respect for myself, which I didn't have when I left New Zealand."
His walking away from a career in food may make him look like a quitter, but Isaac insists he just took a wrong turn on his career path.
"You've got to be really passionate about working in a restaurant to be a chef, and I wasn't," he says.
However, his housemates may benefit from his experience. "I won't be cooking for them all the time, but maybe I could teach them a few things so I don't have to do it," he says.
His ambition on Make Me a Supermodel is simple – "I just want a good career in modelling". "I'm pretty raw with all this so I'll be taking on everything I can from the judges and experts and working really hard," he says.
