This independent teenager can't be without the beach and while he may not have modelled before, his competitive streak is sure to shine through in the Make Me A Supermodel final 14.
Luke, or "Quilly" to his mates, has lived in Perth for the past six months but considers himself to be a Cronulla lad through and through.
"I guess I'm just a down-to-earth sort of bloke. I love body boarding and feel out of place if I'm too far inland," he says. "And I'm definitely a bit of a shit stirrer."
Luke now lives with his girlfriend of one year in Perth and works as a labourer.
"I moved out of home at 17 and relying on my parents is out of the question," he says.
Luke was talked into applying when his girlfriend rocked up to auditions. There were some tears and tension when the wrong half of the couple got the dream nod from judges, but now she's his number one supporter.
He's already relishing the early advice and criticism from the judges on Make Me a Supermodel.
"The closest thing to modelling I've done is footy team photo," he says. "So when the people giving the criticism are the best in the business, them telling you your pros and cons is really good."
He is now so committed to the Make Me a Supermodel mission that he says he missed a major competition at which he would have represented the Western Australian under 19's rugby league team.
"Give me a bat and a ball and I'll amuse myself for hours," sporty Luke says.
Luke's career took a detour when he joined the Navy to pursue a mechanical engineering apprenticeship.
"It wasn't for me," he says. "I told them as honestly as I could that they would be wasting their money investing it in me for the next five years and they understood that."
