Did Hannah unfairly earn the "bitch" tag, or has this hippy child gone through a transformation?
The first few weeks in the house, I couldn't wander about the mansion without models dropping Hannah's name. According to just about all reports, the flame haired beauty was the primary source of all the trouble in the house, the bitchiness between the girls – she even managed to piss off Jackie when she swiped a bottle of champas and rumour has it, the current financial crisis in the States can be linked back to Miss H. (OK, that last bit was an embellishment.)
But perhaps the wrath of Jackie Frank was enough to snap Hannah into line... because no sooner was she penning apology notes to the esteemed judge than she was wiggling her way back into the good books of her fellow competitors – who now reckon she might not have actually gone through a metamorphosis of good, she might have been misunderstood all along.
Who better to weigh in than Shanina – who many on the forums claim has been bullied by Hannah. Miss H says the two are now tight, and Shanina agrees it's a combination of events that has led to what once seemed an unlikely pairing. "Hannah says she has learned to keep her opinions to herself more," she says. "I think she has calmed down and is more focused now Kassie isn't here. That's what's changed, in my opinion."
"It's hard to be in this world," she continues. "Hannah is a nice girl and there's nothing wrong with her. Sometimes, different personalities come through in different ways. People express their opinions differently and with varying intensity levels. Sometimes, just saying your opinion can come across as bitchy."
While Hannah has conceded to me in the past that she has settled down a little, she's also adamant that her bold nature was originally misinterpreted as bitchiness. "People aren't used to others being upfront and brutally honest," she claims. "My nature does come across quite blunt but I am consistent."
"I don't think Hannah ever was a bitch," confesses Tom. "Her personality is such that she is really upfront and people reacted to that negatively to begin with. That has tarnished how she has been perceived in public. People are really taking it the wrong way. She is how she is, and the bitch tag needs to be dropped. It's about time that it should be."
Hannah agrees with what he's saying. "People didn't understand me but it really upsets me that I am stuck with the persona of being a bitch now, because that's not me at all," she says. "Shanina and I actually get along really well now and I find comfort in her company. I was never bullying her at all – I was naïve and didn't really how it would come across. I love her, and as much as she is a huge threat in this competition, I will always support her in the decisions she makes."
Hannah admits she is worried she will be stuck with the "bitch" label forever. "I just don't want that to stick – I am really not a bitch," she says. "I find it refreshing to be able to say what I think. I know a lot of different kinds of people and I enjoy analysing them. I like sharing the life experiences I have and I think I am sometimes short with people because I am good at reading them and I know they wouldn't listen to what I am saying anyway!"
"It really upsets me to think that people do perceive me as a bitch," she finishes. "I hope people realise I am really focused on the game. I like to see the beauty in life and try to take every opportunity. People who know me, know I am not a bitch."
Hannah's best mate in the house Kassie once said, "This isn't a ‘nicest person' competition, it's a modelling competition." But as many of the models say themselves, it's personality that transforms a working model into a supermodel.
The question is – how do you feel about Hannah now?
