The tension levels may have dropped a little since last week... but is that just because things are simmering, rather than exploding?
I stayed away from Model Mansion for a couple of days... after last week, I was blatantly fearful I might somehow become part of the intensity! But to my surprise, the next time I went, there was a very chilled out vibe there indeed.
One half of the group was snuggled under doonas on the couch, dozing and watching ‘Team America'. Lucas was chowing down on a delicious looking grilled salmon and salad and everyone else was in their bedrooms, napping. Literally, snoredom!
So where is all the obvious tension from days of yesteryear? Never fear, just when I thought the ridiculously good looking ones may have burned themselves out, I was informed by Tom that there had been blowups and Sheridan and Isaac were quick to let me know of in-fighting too. Maybe it's not as in-your-face as it has been in the past, but it looks like one thing is for certain when you put a bunch of genetically blessed wannabes up against each other – you get an overdose of hormones and a lotta fireworks.
Isaac is one of those blokes who somehow manages to avoid the label of "bitch" – I think it's because he is simply so blunt and open about his opinions that you can't help but think he wouldn't hesitate to say them directly and calmly to the subject of choice. Turns out he had a few words to say about Lucas. "Lucas was very upset to be in the Bottom 3," he confessed. "I also found out at judging panel that Lucas blamed the poor performance of our photoshoot on me. I wasn't very happy about it," he admitted wryly. "But I am not going to bring it up. I know where I stand with him now. When he is nice to me from here on in, I will just think it's a front to make him look good to the Australian public."
Ouch! That's backed up by Tom, who says that Lucas was lacking in emotion when it came to the photoshoot, and that left Isaac hangin'. Maybe he could have taken some of that fired up attitude he displayed towards Hannah's teddy bear and brought it to the photoshoot instead... hmm...
On that note, when I was there last week, LUKE admitted to chucking the teddy in the pool. What's going on there? I can't believe I was sucker enough to fall for that boy's jokes and schemes... anyway, I hit up Lucas about why he engaged in TeddyGate and turns out while he claims to be remorseful, he also can't help but giggle at the memory. Geez, I'll admit it... it's deliciously evil and I do love it, just a little bit!
OK, back to Tom. "I don't like people who are soft," he ‘fessed up to me, which is strange... because the person he is clashing with is Billy Hollywood, who is not what you would dub a shrinking violet. "I was into the bitchiness a bit I guess," Tom added, "But it came to a point where I realised it really gets you no further and achieves nothing. There's a line between analysing people and bitchiness that is very fine – and I may have crossed that a little."
There's a whole lot more to be said here... but check back later for my next blog, which spills all the dirt on the showdown between Hollywood and Tom!
Back to the girls - and we're officially two from two weeks when it comes to Shanina being out of the firing line. This time, it was Sheridan who was clashing with who some are dubbing the "Terrible Two" – Kassie and Hannah. "There was a bad vibe going through the house and one person in particular really upset me –Kassie." Sheridan told me. "She would put me down for no reason and just be a bitch, pretty much. She had no reason to be and I hadn't done anything to her. She was treating me with disrespect and making my time harder in the house. That had me on a downer for the whole week."
But it seems Sheridan isn't shy about throwing some flak around herself. "I got put in a group for my photoshoot this week with two of the weakest links in the house," she said, straight-up. "I was put in a group with Isaac and Lucas, who have both been in the Bottom 3 at least once and who never get good feedback from their photoshoots. I did wonder why that happened..."
Sheridan partially blamed the matching for a less-than-stellar performance – that saw her and Lucas land in the Bottom 3. "I didn't go into it feeling confident because our communication levels," she claimed. "We're not really a group of friends. I think I saw a very self-conscious side to Lucas that I haven't seen before. The boys got so much criticism as soon as we started shooting and that threw me. I kinda knew right away we were not going to have a good shoot."
How long until the tension is all out in the open again? Hmm, I give it a day or two!
*wondering who will go this week...*
