The Heroic Lost Ninja

C'mon, you son of a ---

Hey there amazing actioneers of adventure, and anyone else's brain feel like smoosh? Juliet set off the bomb, so the past should change… But as Miles pointed out, absolutely everything had happened just as it had in the past, so shouldn't Jack be causing the very thing he's trying to prevent? And Locke isn't Locke, but Jacob's enemy conning everyone so that he can finally be rid of Jacob? Finales; I love them, but they're bittersweet.

As you'll understand, there's no way I can possibly tackle everything that just happened, might happen or now didn't happen in a single post; so I'm not even going to try! Check back Wednesday next week for part 2 of this post.

First things first – just because the show is off the air doesn't mean I will be. I'm not tied up doing the same work I was in other years meaning that I'll be able to keep you regularly update on all news from the Lost world until the show returns. And yes, as usual, that means I'll be bringing you exclusive coverage of the last ever Lost panel held at San Diego Comic Con in July. The producers have already said there'll be something extra special this year so be sure to stay tuned for that.

The other reason you should continue coming back is pretty darn exciting. In news that I can bring you exclusively here first, before being announced to the media or anything, Channel 7 will be bringing you the new US sci-fi Flash Forward! If you haven't heard of it yet don't worry; a great deal about the show is shrouded in mystery but I'll be bringing you all the news, gossip and inside looks at the show that I can.

The show will be airing on ABC in the States later this year on the same night Lost airs. Essentially, enough of you have mentioned that you follow US programming enough to know what is going on. I figure, why fall behind on Flash Forward? I'll be keeping you as up to date as possible, Being that I only learned this information late this afternoon I've not got too much to share just yet, but here are the following details I've uncovered:

Cast:
Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love / Elizabeth)
Sonya Walger (Penny on Lost, duh!)
John Cho (Sulu in Star Trek / Harold from Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle)
Jack Davenport (The Pirates series)
Seth McFarlane (Family Guy)

The writer and director of the pilot is David Goyer, the man responsible for the screenplay for Batman Begins and the story for Dark Knight. Needless to say, I'm pumped for this show and will be back with more as soon as I have my hands on it. If you learn anything, jump over to the Flash Forward message board that's been set up and let me know you super sluether of scoops! http://au.messages.yahoo.com/tv/flashforward/

FINALE    -    PART I     -     THE PRESENT

Yeah, yeah, I know. I chickened out. The repercussions of Juliet's choice and exertion of free will while lying at the bottom of the well have me running scared in terms of putting a concrete answer down. For the record, I think Miles was right, this always happened and that this led to Dharma knowing how to install a failsafe next to the pocket of energy. Maybe highly charged electromagnetism and rapidly expanding nuclear energy combine to cause a harmless purple light in the sky, a skip in time or more. Maybe there's a reason the ruptured energy sounded like Smokey from above ground and the Swan going bananas from below. Next week my pretties. The extra thinking time will be worth it, trust me.

In the meantime – WTF! Locke isn't Locke, but really Jacob's enemy walking around conning everyone? He used Ben as a way to kill Jacob via a loophole? Does this mean he was Dead Alex too? Christian? Is he Smokey? What is Sun's intention of drinking with Richard Alpert / Ricardos?

Oh yeah, I was wrong. Dead is dead. Dead is still lying in a crate from the cargo hold of the plane. Dead is the feeble man who thought he was meant for greatness, thought he was special, but ended up being tricked and used as a mere suit of clothing to get the true special person, Ben, to stab his leader and possibly god through the heart. Visiting Jacob in his true home underneath the shattered statue, not the cabin as we previously thought, "Locke" looked positively evil as he tempted Ben with the knife.

I like the fact that "Locke" didn't break Richard's rule about a single Island leader inside at a time; as we found out a few minutes later, Ben was the still technically the leader. Ben's speech with Jacob was upsetting; Michael Emerson delivered the good yet again and you could see his heart break, accept his fate and abandon his free choice all in the space of two second after Jacob muttered "What about you?" Jacob seemed to even lean into the stabbing and then made a point of touching Ben's arm as he collapsed to the ground, coughing "They're coming!"

Who is coming? Ilana and her crew to expose him? The 1977 blast survivors? Or something completely different allowed to roam free and destroy without Jacob holding them back?

Namaste
