I Watched Them All Die

Hey there bodacious bringers of bounty, and wh-wh-WHAT?! They all died? Locke wants to kill Jacob? Hurley didn't know who the president was?! This episode made me think of 'Greatest Hits', an episode that basically moved everyone into position for the season three finale but kicked major butt on its own. Other than Desmond, everyone got a look in, new allegiances were formed while old ones betrayed...

TEN RADDEST MOMENTS THAT WILL KEEP ME UP THIS WEEK

10. Is Eloise pregnant with Daniel? When she and Widmore stand by Daniel's body and discuss helping Jack and Kate, Widmore rests his hand on her stomach caringly. He then makes his case that she shouldn't travel in her condition. Both of those are pretty clear signs! I have to say though, I was surprised Dan was still using the same journal; I burn through those things and I'm hardly writing equations to save the future by changing the past... OR AM I?!

9. The Other that got shot? That was definitely not Tom. I'll admit when I was wrong. Just like Caesar, they gave us the ol' last minute swerve on someone we thought might be important. If you've seen Star Trek already, you'll know what I mean when I say producer Damon Lindelof has redshirts on the brain in a big way.

8. Sayid's back! At least that Other, Erik, gave Sayid a chance to show he really has accepted his role as a remorseless killer. His attitude to shooting was so stone cold I almost expected him to crack an insane smile while peering through the bushes. I felt really bad for him when Kate basically spat "nyah nyah I ruined your plan to save the future!" in his face. He's on board Team Past-Go-Boom til the end.

7. That bloody compass is back, and it gets much worse. Richard has been carrying it around in his pocket for fifty years when he gives it to time-travelling Locke so it should be showing rust, right? It wasn't when Locke got it fourteen eps back. However, if this is the loop we're being led to believe it is, surely the compass must be breaking down? The timeline it exists is constantly that of its present, despite the loops. If you ever made a Mobius band in maths, you'll be able to visualize what is going on – a third type of time movement that, quite frankly, I don't want to get too much further into for fear of my brain 'sploding.

6. Sawyer said five words I've been dying to hear; "You're a dead man, Phil!" Phil has been annoying and intrusive for weeks but after slapping Juliet's face he's became this season's Keamy by winning The Character I Want To Die Horribly award. Seriously, dude! I know you were on Mad Men where they treat women like dirt but that was, like, ten years earlier than your Dharma days! The only way Sawyer's call could've been better was if he referenced Superboy-Prime's insane meltdown classic, "I'll kill you - I'll kill you to death!"

5. Present-Locke tells Richard to tell Past-Locke... Dammit, I said I didn't want to think about this stuff anymore! All I'll say is the fact that Locke basically convinced himself he needed to die increases his crazy level fifty percent in my eyes. No wonder Ben wanted to take him out before he became trouble.

4. Did Jack just admit he was wrong? In a scene a lot of people have been waiting to see, Jack chatted with Kate and said he might've been wrong about both Locke and destiny. I wasn't one of those people who wanted this, but, whatever. You know where I stand on the faith / science debate between the two. (Hint: Believing in people / things is what caused this entire mess.)

3. The second biggest WTF moment – Richard "watched them die"?! Sun, parroting the same mewing lines she's had since arriving back on the island, did her "Have you seen my husband?" routine. No one saw Richard's answer coming. What does this mean? Did Dharma or the Others kill or execute them? Were they successful in detonating Jughead? If they all died in the blast, how did Richard survive?

2. Did anyone else think Hurley should've said, "See dude? Your dad's not a douche" to Miles when they watched Pierre shove his wife and son off the island? You could see Miles' heartbreak as he witnessed his Dad unintentionally causing the years of pain that lay ahead, only now realising it was due to his own actions all along. They only shared a brief moment together but I'm really hoping that isn't the last meeting between Miles and his Dad we get to see.

1. Locke wants to kill Jacob. I know. I know! Does he want to take his place and become Island Supremo? Does he now see Jacob like he did Anthony Cooper, someone holding him from his true destiny? Or is he just sick and tired of following orders and now has the authority to do something about it?

Namaste,
