Hey there you far found finders of facts, and doesn't it feel good to be back into the swing of weekly Lost? I love Hurley eps and this one delivered in spades.
Ok, straight off the top, no talk about time travel this week from me. Last week it did my head in, as I'm sure it did yours. I have to clear something up. Sometimes I'm forced to speculate on things, attempt a theory based on stuff that we just don't have all the information on so, guess what? I might be wrong from time to time. Those of you awesome enough to have been here since TLE (DJ Dan says hi, btw) know that I'm generally pretty close to the mark and when I'm not, I'll admit it. Don't be a theory hater. If you don't like mine, get your own.
Back to business.

Hands up if you turned to whoever you were watching with and said, "See that guy? He's gonna die, like, this episode." The curse of the red shirts strikes again, and Frogurt wasn't even carrying any logs! We've been hearing about Neil since S.O.S. in season two, we saw him challenge Hurley for Libby's affections in a mobisode, but finally Neil makes it onto the show proper… only to be promptly killed by fiery hot irony arrows. Neil, you called Sawyer inbred, whinged a lot and generally annoyed everyone. You'll be missed. It was a shame we didn't get names for the other, ooh, seven survivors felled. They should've worn their red shirts and complained more.
We now know that objects travel with the survivors if they're physically holding them, which is how Locke was able to take Richard's compass with him last ep. What I want to know is what Daniel has in his backpack other than his notebook. While he was sitting on the beach he was using a strange golden device… It looked kind of like a scope you would use to determine your bearings at sea, but tricked-out. Maybe you can use it to find your bearing through time?
Fly by shout-out – how awesome was it seeing Frank again, if only for a few minutes? Such a nice guy.
Off the island, it was nice to know that Hurley still can't get a break from the dead. This time it was Ana-Lucia playing the part of the law and sending him in the right direction. It felt slightly weird with Ana-Lucia telling him not to get arrested, considering the reasons why she was killed off… Good to know Libby is still thinking of Hurley too!

But what Ana-Lucia said made me stop and think. Every time we've seen the ghost/spirit/whatever that has appear to Hurley, they've been urging him back to the island. Ana-Lucia did that but also stressed he stay clear of the police and to not get caught, something he later disobeyed running from Ben. (Hurley throwing his food at Ben was the funniest moment on the show in a while) Could she have been talking about that particular incident? If the Left Behinders are popping around though the island's history and remember everything, couldn't the island have the same knowledge and be using the dead to manipulate things off-island just as Daniel is on?
[IMG2 R]As I said, I've some crazy theories rattling around in my head.
I cheered when Cheec- I mean Hurley's Dad told Jack to back off. Man, does Jack need to be told that more often. I thought he was going to choke Ben out for dumping his pills. And was it just me, or was the first thing he said after Sayid let go of his neck "I'm fine"?!

Mrs. Hawking aligned with Ben? Didn't see that coming! Looks like Desmond's favourite crash course in course correction teacher has found a way back to the island but Ben has only seventy hours to get everyone ready. There was plenty of cool stuff around her hatch-like lair, including a computer with a Dharma logo that looked like a lighthouse and a blackboard covered in…. extremely mathematical stuff. Also, things. She had a very impressive setup called a Foucault pendulum, a device I won't pretend to completely understand. All that matters is that it is a device that shows the rotation of the earth, and that Mrs. Hawking is probably trying to use it to plot where the island might pop back up on the planet. But here's my crazy theory – what if she's in fact charting the anomalies in an attempt to send the Oceanic Six to wherever the Left Behinders are in time? In other words, the island won't be there in seventy hours, but a hole in time to it will be.
Let me know what you think, you crazy cats. My head is swimming and I want to hear what you think.
Namaste,
