How do you feel about being nominated for the Gold Logie?

The first thing is I think they made the same mistake again as they did last year, and secondly what am I A pork chop at a Jewish wedding. No, seriously, I feel honoured and thankful that I was even on the list, even though I am about 150/1.

We have been doing a poll, and you are up there with Kate Ritchie?

No no, I don't believe that. Although I made a lot of money out of that poll last year cause I had my money on Kate Ritchie, and I just checked it before I went to the Logies and she was streets ahead so I popped my money on and I made 500 bucks.

Are you going to do that again this year?

Well now that you've told me no doubt I’ll have an each way bet.

Have you decided what to wear?

The suit I'm wearing now. Last year I was wearing a snake skin shoes and bowtie and was dressed down in no uncertain terms by the lady who belongs to Australia Zoo. So I think I’ll be much more sedate this year. I usual wear thongs. It's very unusual for me to wear a suit. Wearing this suit is really unusual, we’re shooting a court case with Frank for All Saints.

What are you looking forward to most on the night?

Winning the money, again!

Will you prepare a speech in advance?

I've already prepared it. Oh yes, I think I prepared it about 35 years ago. It’s the same one, Thanks Mum.

What's your most memorable moment from previous Logies?

Well my most memorable moment from previous Logies was when I won one and I wasn’t even there. I was at a fundraiser for Kids Cancer with Micheal Caine at The Sydney Theatre Company and this film crew was there and I thought it was to interview him you know because he’s such a star, but it was because I’d won a gong. Rebecca Gibney gave it to me but I couldn’t hear her because all the people that were there at the charity event were in the middle of the auction and were going bananas.

Who is your hot tip for the Gold Logie?

Kate Ritchie, odds on. And I think tugging at the hem of her dress is a smokey called Andrew Denton because all of the voting has widened. Because there is more access for people to vote more. It’s quite a competitive list this year. That’s why I’m keen to win the money!
