Tissue regeneration or 'healing factor' is a term used to describe a character's ability to heal bodily injuries or illness at a greatly enhanced rate. Claire Benet can spontaneously regenerate any tissue in her body, allowing her to recover from supeficial and even fatal wounds in seconds. This ability cannot, however, move displaced parts of the body back into the correct location. Whilst mimicking Claire's power, Peter Petrelli had to manually rotate his broken foot to the correct orientation before it would heal. And healing will not occur if a foreign object obstructs the wound.
Claire's and Peter's reactions suggest that they experience little to no pain when injuries occur. It is simply the shock or impact of injuries that is felt - something that they very quickly recover from as well. Any football club in the world would hire either of them in a second.
