Born in Washington, DC, but raised in New Canaan, Connecticut, Katherine Heigl began her career at the age of nine as a child model. It wasn't long before she graduated to commercial work, which opened the door to auditions for film roles. By age 12 she made her feature debut in "That Night," starring Juliette Lewis and C. Thomas Howell. Heigl has since emerged as one of Hollywood's brightest talents on both the silver screen and on television.

During her summer hiatus this year, Heigl shot the romantic comedy "Knocked Up." The film, directed by Judd Apatow and co-staring Paul Rudd, focuses on a young man who finds out he has impregnated his one night stand. Prior to that, she starred opposite Johnny Knoxville in Fox Searchlight's comedy, "The Ringer." Previous film credits include the horror film "Valentine," Steven Soderbergh's critically acclaimed depression-era drama, "King of the Hill," "Under Siege 2: Dark Territory," opposite Steven Segal, "Stand-Ins" and "That Night." Heigl's first leading role was in Touchstone Pictures' "My Father the Hero," starring opposite Gerard Depardieu.

On television Heigl starred in the sci-fi drama series, "Roswell." Additional television credits include the Hallmark Channel's "Love Comes Softly," TBS' "Evil Never Dies" and "Love's Enduring Promise."
