Rose: You know my name!
Derek: I had to ask around but now I know.
Rose: Oh, good for you. Good night.
Derek: Hang on, I should have recognized you form the OR today. We worked together for three hours.
Rose: I've worked on 36 of your surgeries and today was the first time we made eye contact. Like I said, a hospital is no better than high school. Good night, Dr. Shepherd.
There's a new girl in Seattle Grace, well she's not so new, but she's new in Derek's mind - Nurse Rose. She wears a green nurse's uniform placing her higher up the rank than Meredith's pale blue attire and she's caught Derek's eye, finally, after 36 surgeries in his OR. Does this mean Derek's ready to move on? But will Meredith be when she finds out her McDreamy is starting to let go?
Meredith to Cristina: It's not about the sex. It's not... about the sex. It's about that moment afterward... when the world stops. It just feels so safe, so safe. I'm not ready to give that up. I'm not ready to give that up.
In the episode 'Forever Young' Derek and Meredith leave Joe's Bar together when Derek catches Rose's eye, a look is cast between them. It's just a look, but it implies so much more. It's the point where two paths have crossed, creating an uncertain future for Meredith and Derek. Could Rose signal the end for Meredith and McDreamy? Or will losing McDreamy be too much for Meredith to bare, causing her to fight for the man she loves.
Meredith to Cristina: The more available he gets, the more I pull away.
Perhaps if Derek becomes less available, Meredith will become more available. But will it be too late for McDreamy to turn back?
