What led you to try out for the show?

I was a fan of the old Gladiators show 11 years ago and never missed an episode. Mum gave me a call telling me that Gladiator auditions were being held in Sydney and I thought it would be interesting to try out. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

What led you to try out for the show?

I loved Gladiators as a kid and as much as wanted it to come back I didn't think it ever would. My girlfriend Kristine [Banks-Smith, who also appeared as a challenger on the show] actually told me that Gladiators 2008 try outs where being held all over Australia, including Melbourne.

What led you to try out for the show?
I tried out for the show because I was obsessed with Gladiators when I was a kid. I am a bit of an all rounder and can play pretty much any sport so I thought that stood in my favour when playing all the games and racing in the eliminator.

What was the toughest thing about the whole process?

Putting on lycra every day.
