Underwood received rave reviews in 2007 recurring opposite Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the CBS award-winning comedy, "The New Adventures of Old Christine." He will return in the 2007-08 season. Also in 2008, he stars opposite Gabriel Byrne in HBO's highly-anticipated new nightly drama series, "In Treatment." Additionally, he is producing the TLC series "Easy Money" with his partner, Tommy Morgan Jr., for their new Intrepid Inc. production company. He's also co-executive producing the reality competition "Stage Black" for TV One.
In July 2007 Underwood returned to the literary world - co-authoring the erotic detective novel "Casanegra: A Tennyson Hardwick Story" with Tananarive Due and Steven Barnes, which was an Essence Book of the Month pick and is being turned into a film and a series of novels. The second installment -- "In the Night of the Heat" -- is planned for summer 2008 release. In 2006 Underwood portrayed Jesus in the audio book "The Bible Experience," and in 2005 he published the non-fiction bestseller "Before I Got Here," a collection of stories and anecdotes from parents that speaks to the existence of a child's soul prior to birth.
Underwood's film credits include "Madea's Family Reunion," "Something New," "Full Frontal," "Rules of Engagement," "Set It Off," "Deep Impact" and "Just Cause."
