Never before have a tv audience so wanted an onscreen romance for so long as was the case with these two. From the pilot episode when we were introduced to Mulder (the out-there FBI agent that believed in UFO) and his new partner Scully (rational analyst assigned to discredit his outlandish theories) there was chemistry. As the two got closer and closer, the chemistry got more and more interesting (in one episode they went undercover as a married couple). However over eight seasons it never really materialized...and as much as fans wanted it to happen, I think they were secretly glad it never did.
