Episode 1 & 2 - In The Hands Of Giants (Part 1 & 2)

Episode 1 & 2 - In The Hands Of Giants (Part 1 & 2)

Part 1:

STANLEY: "In the hands of giants, ever are the children, and grateful should be the man who has in his quiver two of them."

For Matt, Simon, Duncan and Jennifer, a seemingly straightforward suicide will turn into a nightmare of screaming children killed in fires, and grieving parents killing themselves because of their guilt.

A rogue cop has beaten the crew to an investigation which is now beginning to destroy him. Maybe it already has. The crew has to ask: is he the investigator or the perpetrator? Could a killer's trophy room turn out to be something else entirely?

Part 2:

KLEIN: "I wanted to see him burn! I want to smell the crackling! I want him dead!"

The discovery of another body, a woman, concealed in a ceiling, provides a clue to a ten-year-old series of murders.

The price these women have been paying is a grim one. As the body count rises, the Homicide crew feels the stress and horror mounting.

Events take a terrifying turn when the detectives find themselves in the heart of an inferno with the murderous arsonist and three more innocent kids. Will this be a resolution that our team can live with?

Persistent legwork, a breakthrough on the case and a heart-stopping confrontation finally bring Jennifer into the fold. For good.

This production has a great cast plus a bad script, which equals an embarrassment to Melbourne. Although there is such a great cast, some of the acting is atrocious, and the drama feels unbelievable. The plot of this first episode is far fetched. An officer in the PR or HR department investigating a series of murders from his storage room? Pa-LEAZE. Sub-plots such as Daniel MacPherson being dobbed in to his superior officer for having an affair with his colleague’s wife and threats in regards

to that make for high drama. When the detectives questioned the taxi driver, it wasn’t believable that they were questioning the driver in front of the house where the suspect was dropped off, then despite a body falling out of the roof to that house, they fail to explain why the victim went back to house when he hadn’t rented a room there for several months???
Why does Noni Hazlehurst always have a folder with her?
It’s painful, I’d be surprised if it last’s the full season.

It needs a bit of work. The previous posters made some good points. The spot about the taxi driver was a little annoying. I hope the sex bits are toned down a lot otherwise the shows will turn out like the Bill - a sorry soap opera.

I thought the episode was good beginning. Had an interesting storyline that held my interest over two hours coupled with a solid cast and good guest actors.

Second episode looks worthwhile. This is ten times better than Sea Patrol.

Enjoyed the show. Good to see channel 7 taking a punt on Aussie drama. Give it a go people. I for one am sick of the american shows and reality garbage we have been fed for so long.

I was impressed.. I'm not a huge tv watcher and was soo tired last night but it reeled me in and I ended up watching the whole 2 hours. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to see next weeks episode. I'm glad Aussie Drama has finally produced something decent!

What a great show. It is great to have to have a great new Aussie show to replace Blue Heelers. I will definately be watching next week.

What is Channel seven thinking putting a second rated show on the air ways, talk about poor acting on all parts.
Ah well one day they will get it right
