Where are you and your character Bernice similar and where are you completely different?

The most obvious difference is the way we dress. Bernice dresses corporate – she wears high heels every day. Noni's much more casual. Also our career paths have been very different. I couldn't do what she's done; she couldn't do what I've done.

Which of the young cops does Bernice identify with as being similar to her at that age?

Definitely Jennifer Mapplethorpe (Nadine Garner). She's young, ambitious and fighting for her rights as a female in a predominantly male environment.

It must be tough for her to have such a stressful job and look after her teenage son on her own. How does she cope?

She doesn't cope particularly well, but is doing her best.

Work or family? Where's Bernice's focus in Series Two?

Primarily work, because her job is 24-7, but her son's situation is constantly on her mind.
