Finally Corinne takes matters into her own hands and the resulting tragic outcome brings Steve and Jack to blows.
Angus, just twenty years old and with a burning ambition to become an international soccer player, is admitted with what appear to be mild, flu-like symptoms. He's due to appear before a selection panel, and wants a medical certificate to clear him to sit out the first couple of days so he doesn't jeopardise this last opportunity to make it to the top. Bart feels duty bound to make Angus well but despite treatment, Angus's condition deteriorates rapidly. It soon becomes clear that whatever he has, could have been picked up during a recent sporting tour of South East Asia. Charlotte assists Bart by researching disease outbreaks in the countries to which Angus has been, but both are frustrated when all of her research, and all of Bart's tests, come up negative. Angus is getting sicker by the moment and there seems to be nothing they can do about it. It takes Frank's experience to finally recognise the disease for what it is with the final diagnosis stunning them all.
Charlotte finds herself in an awkward predicament when she confronts Rhiannon about her growing attraction towards Bart.
Dan's brother Luke, normally an independant and energetic paraplegic, has been rendered helpless with a broken arm and is living in the share house. He's deeply appreciative of all that Dan's doing for him but he's also very conscious of the fact that he's intruding on Dan and Erica's life together. Von persuades him to think outside the box. If he's not happy, then it's up to him to come up with a solution to his problem.
