The Ambos are called to the scene of a car fire. A young man, Dylan Pederson, with others, has deliberately set the car on fire, but Dylan has been engulfed by flames. When he is brought in to the ED he is fighting for his life. Zoe, Jack and Dan struggle to save his life. Tamara Pederson, arrives at the ED claiming to be his Mother. When his condition deteriorates to such an extent that the medical team believe there is little chance of him surviving, Jack and Von ask Tamara if she objects to them not taking further action to actively resuscitate him. Tamara seems more than comfortable with the decision. As the young man flatlines, Police arrive at the Hospital. Tamara may not be who she claims she is.

Charlotte and Gabrielle treat a young woman, Phoebe Speight, with severe abdominal pain. An X-ray reveals she has a large mass in her abdomen, but Charlotte has never seen anything like this before. Mike is called for a surgical consult, but he has never seen anything like this either. When they find blood in her vomit, Mike rushes Phoebe to Theatre. What they find places Charlotte in direct confrontation with the young woman's husband.

Steve and Erica also have a mystery to solve when a young woman, Simone Collie, presents with a history of hallucinations, seizures and a severe thirst. None of the tests help Steve make a diagnosis.

Frank is summoned to a meeting with Admin. The ED Staff wait anxiously to learn the outcome of their collective agreement to strike. Oliver Maroney informs Frank that the Hospital Board want him to reconsider his position.

Dan awaits the results of his tests. He tells Erica that he won't repeat the treatment if the results are still positive for Hep C. Bart, Von and Frank attend Ann-Maree's funeral.
