For Mike, this day could not come soon enough... His first day back in surgery after his kidney donation. However, he is soon put to the test when Tim Spillane is brought in after impaling himself on a fence post. Things begin to go from bad to worse, requiring a Herculean physical effort from Mike and by the end of the day he comes face-to-face with his own limitations... with a little help from Frank.
... Which may be the last help Frank gives anyone at All Saints as word of his resignation gets around the ED. But just how will his staff, in particular his 2IC, Zoe, react to the news?
Charlotte and Erica struggle to help Evan Fallon, a young man who refuses to be forthcoming about the nature of his problem. However, when Jack talks to Evan, the truth finally comes out. It seems that Evan had a bigger 21st birthday that he had been willing to admit and the outcome has seen him consumed by shame. Our team help Evan realise that at 21, it might be time for him to become a man.
Bart comes into the ED to announce that Ann-Maree died the night before and Von quickly recognises that he is sinking in grief. However, she may have something to help him navigate his way through.
