Mike and Erica fight to save the life of a patient, Brian Hilton, badly injured in a construction site accident. Gabrielle discovers he has bought a wedding anniversary card and airline tickets for a second honeymoon. They fight to stabilise their patient and get him to Theatre. When they are ready to take him up they discover that the Lift isn't working. They have to return to Resus. The clock is ticking for their patient.
Bart has persuaded Ann-Maree to come in to All Saints to be examined. He believes they need to know what they are facing. Ann-Maree is scared of knowing. She refuses to see her Oncologist. Bart asks Jack to see her. When Jack examines her he finds a swollen lymph node in her armpit. Ann-Maree insists he tell her what he thinks is going on. Jack is forced to admit that her cancer may have spread. Ann-Maree can't cope. Jack is angry Bart didn't tell him he was in a relationship with Ann-Maree. Frank's angry too and tries to make Bart realize what he's doing. He's in a relationship with a vulnerable patient. A medical tribunal would see that as ethical misconduct. His career is on the line. But Bart tells Frank to back off, it is none of his business. We're left wondering if Ann-Maree's cancer has really spread, and if Frank is right that Bart is setting himself up for massive heartbreak.
Mike receives news that he is able to donate his kidney to his son. He is a match. But what will Mike do?
James, the new Maintenance man, brings in Melissa, who last came in to the ED as the result of a panic attack. He says he found her panicked in the Ambo Bay. She says she is suffering chest pains, but Zoe suspects she's only there to see Heath again. James starts to work on fixing the Lift.
Mike can't wait any longer. He decides he needs to take his patient to Theatre via an outside route. At the same time Frank learns that Georgina is a match for the donor heart and the team rush to transfer her. But they find that the Ambo Bay door won't open. What's going on?
James, Melissa and an accomplice, Smokey, hold up the ED at gunpoint. They want to clear out the drug room. The clock is ticking for the young heart patient, Mike's trauma victim and Ann-Maree and Bart. When James reveals that they will all be held here until he has gone to rob the Hospital Pharmacy Frank confronts him. How does he think he'll get away with that? It is then that James reveals he has something planned that is certain to keep everyone distracted.
Jack waits in the Pathology Lab for Ann-Maree's results. The clocks ticks.

At 8.30, turn to channel 10 for NCIS, and then at the time when they said All Saints would be on, flick to seven and see if its there. If its not, you just flick back to 10 and do that every five mins. It means you miss the first 2 mins of All Saints, but thats ok.
I wanted to read comments about the finale for 2007....I don't think I can hold out til 2008 to see what happens.
Although I was left a little confused by it all... why is that bloke holding up the ED (Is it only for the drugs?), has he had a previous 'thing' with the hospital???
