Meet the staff
Find out more about the staff of the All Saints Emergency Department

Mike is back at work after suffering injuries in a blast the week before. His team and Frank are sure that he is back at work too soon. But this is something they can’t convince Mike of. The MRU team are called out to a farm where an elderly man has rolled a quad bike on top of himself. The injuries sustained are severe, requiring drastic surgery on the spot. Despite his team’s persistent reservations Mike makes it clear that the very difficult surgery is Ray’s only hope. He instructs Steve that he’s going to have to be the one to do the procedure. Steve battles through the operation. The patient is stabilised and rushed to the Emergency Department. While the patient is saved a cloud is left hanging over the MRU. Steve and Jo have had enough of Mike’s stubborn refusal to listen to his own team. Steve makes it clear that unless things change he is not going to continue with the MRU. And Jo backs him up one hundred percent.

Charlotte attends to a distraught woman who has arrived at All Saints desperately worried about her unborn baby. Charlotte has the unenviable task of confirming the woman’s worst fears; the baby is no longer alive. When the father comes in to be with his wife Von learns that this is a third disaster to strike this couple. They have already lost two babies to SIDS. The connection between the miscarriage and SIDS is unclear, but Charlotte can’t believe this is just bad luck. A cloud of suspicion hangs over the couple. Could this have all happened deliberately? Von digs into the history of the couple and discovers an answer that none could have suspected.

Bart and Amy deal with a patient that presents as a fairly routine ED case. A young male doing something stupid has managed to slice his head open. It’s a nasty bleed, but it’s quickly established that no serious injury has occurred. By coincidence this patient is an old school friend of Elliott’s; the two young men clearly share a somewhat mischievous past. The routine medical situation takes a sudden turn towards the bizarre when bloods come back revealing a very rare condition that makes any kind of blood loss a matter of life and death.
