The MRU team attend the aftermath of a stunt gone wrong. While the two stuntmen, Declan and Todd, seem okay, two onlookers are injured. The driver, Declan, is mortified and Jo finds herself uncharacteristically drawn to him. Events conspire to see them alone, where they learn more about each other and their chemistry intensifies. When Declan’s day takes an unexpected tragic turn, it’s Jo he turns to for support - and they cement their feelings with a kiss.
At the same accident scene, Steve is monopolised by a female patient and admirer, Helena. His ego bruised after recent events, Steve enjoys the attention. But will her undisguised admiration cloud his judgement?
Victor is also injured in the accident and he’s frantic about his lost dog, Muffy. Charlotte has a tough time treating Victor – his only concern is for his dog – and he even refuses treatment for potential cancer, preferring to die rather than live without Muffy. The team support Victor and pull out all stops to find the dog.
Amy and Bart suspect foul play when a young woman, Elyse, is admitted with unexplained injuries. It soon transpires that Elyse is a victim, but by her own hand. Her left hand seems to have a mind of it’s own and Elyse suspects it’s trying to kill her. Amy is cynical but an intrigued Bart investigates. He discovers a very rare condition called Alien Hand Syndrome. The hand is not guided by the conscious brain, so cannot be controlled. Elyse’s joy at the diagnosis is short-lived, when it’s clear there’s no cure. She’s at her wits end and considers an amputation, but Amy and Bart encourage her to give all the treatments a go. Amy’s deeply affected by Elyse’s plight and Bart helps her look for the silver lining.
Adam is annoyed when Von permits Debra to visit for lunch. Charlotte can’t quite understand why Von has changed her tune regarding Debra, and Von admits she merely wants to at least give Adam the chance to repair his relationship. The lunch goes badly and Adam asks Debra to leave, but not before she reveals she was defending Adam when she killed his stepfather. It does put a new light on the situation, and Adam is forced to reassess. When Debra reveals what’s driving the urgency behind connecting with Adam, Von makes a drastic decision to heal the rift between them.
The news that Katerina essentially left Adam for dead sends shockwaves through the hospital, and the staff are confused and annoyed that Frank continues to stand by her. Unable to disclose Katerina's secret, and worried about leaving her on her own, Frank can’t appease his staff with explanations or send Katerina home. Frank does try to fix the situation, imploring Katerina to get professional help for her crippling Post Traumatic Stress. But when she refuses to seek counselling, insisting that Frank is all she needs, Frank realises that Katerina has developed a dependency on him.

I really enjoyed this episode, especially the part where both Claire and Gabrielle were nursing Helena. The stunt men were great and I loved the sudden twist of Todd's injuries going from alright to much worse in a very short space of time. I also enjoyed the conversation between Declan and Jo when they were searching for Muffy. Overall it was a great episode!!
