All Saints pronounced dead

After 12 seasons, Channel Seven hospital drama All Saints will film its final scenes at the end of August this year.

All Saints has given viewers outstanding Australian stories, matched by sensational performances, across what will wrap at 493 episodes.

Seven Director of Programming and Production Tim Worner said:

"All Saints is a show which viewers and Seven have loved. However, an audience shift and increased production costs are behind this decision.

"The cast and crew deserve the highest admiration and respect for what they have achieved. All Saints has made a significant contribution to the rich history of Australian drama."

All Saints will continue to be screened until the end of the year.

I am commenting from Ireland, I first watched AS when I was on maternity leave with my first child and did not want to go back to work because I'd miss it - then it changed to Friday nights, and then lastly to Wednesdays - they were the best days of the week. I've watched from Ward 17 days, Terry and Mitch - and its been fantastic since then - Frank is brilliant and I would wish our heads of A&E were the same here. I will miss this show very very much - and am soo sor ...

I am so very sad to see the end of AS. I grew up with "A Country Practice" and then fell in love with AS. First it was Ward 17 and then cleverly changed to the ED and then the MRU. I have watched every single episode and have always looked forward to Tuesday evenings. Good luck to Judith (who was also in ACP with Georgie Parker), and to all the cast. I hope to see you all again in a new drama as good as if not better by the same producers??!! Please!!

Where in the world have I been? I am in total shock that next week is the last EVER All Saints and at the moment I feel ripped off for investing my time into watching the series this season. I hope they will replay the final episode 3 times over like they did with the first episode of Flash Forward (which is nothing in comparison). A huge thanks to all the great Australian Actors and Actresses that worked so hard to make such a great TV show.

We're about a season behind here in Ireland and I can honestly say that All Saints is one of the most enjoyable, professional and engaging programs ever to come out of Australia. The acting, writing and production standards have always been outstanding and I am truly saddened to hear of its demise.
