EMERGENCY RESIDENT

Bart came to All Saints as a young intern in his first gig after graduating with Honors from Med school. He’s hugely enthusiastic and feels incredibly blessed to be a part of the world of Medicine. He has no idea how incredibly lucky the world of Medicine is to have him.

His greatest asset – though it would never occur to him to even think this, let alone say it – is his courage and determination.

He has a strong code of ethics, but recent times has seen that relax a little as he gains his confidence and realises some rules are able to be broken for the greater good. These moments of rebellion are few and far between and always come as a surprise to those around him.

His boyish looks often result in patients and staff underestimating him and his abilities, but there’s a strength to Bart that will prevail, no matter how many times he’s asked if he’s old enough to be a Doctor.

Bart is “freakishly talented” when it comes to medicine and those around him often underestimate his intelligence and knowledge on the subject. He’s a walking textbook, and the person you’d most want on side if a medical mystery is afoot. Like a terrier, Bart is unable and unwilling to let an issue go until it has been resolved.

He’s grown up a lot since he arrived at All Saints, had his heart broken, his professional ethics challenged, and his personal morality called into question.

But through all that, the decency of Bart has kept him focused and optimistic. In moments when emotional honesty is needed or when you need someone to cover your back, someone you can rely on completely, Bart’s your man.

He has the quiet energy of an Old Soul who hasn’t yet realised that’s what he is.

And, just by-the-by, if you ever get Bart relaxed enough to just be himself, you’ll find he’s a lot of fun and can offer insights on himself and the world that are both fresh and refreshing.
