Air Ways

Corinne Grant

As a seasoned traveller with a few mishaps along the way, Corinne Grant was a natural choice to narrate Air Ways.

Corinne’s love of travel and the necessity of it for her work means she’s seen plenty of air safety demonstrations and had more than a few encounters with late check-ins, delayed flights and misplaced bags.

And with a European holiday coming up, she’s taking tips from those caught red-faced on Air Ways on how not to travel.

“There are stories here that everyone will recognise and others you just won’t believe. It’s a really fun show,” she says.

While she tries her best to stay calm while traveling, Corinne admits that she hasn’t always seen eye-to-eye with fellow travelers.

“The only time I’ve ever really lost my temper on a plane was on a trip from the Middle East to the United States. It was a 13-hour flight and the guy opposite me yelled at his wife and child for the entire trip and made the little girl cry. When the plane landed and I was getting my luggage out of the overhead locker above him, I “accidentally-on-purpose” dropped my bags on his head. It felt really good!”

Corinne started on TV as a regular Good News Week panellist in 1999 and in no time became one of the most familiar faces on Australian television.

Corinne’s first full-time TV gig was as an original cast member of Rove, first shown on Channel Nine, before moving with Rove Live to the Ten Network in 2000. In 2001 she took on a second job as a founding member of ABC-TV’s The Glasshouse continuing with the show until it wrapped in 2006.

She has appeared on everything from Spicks and Specks to Good News Week and in 2007 she slipped into some sequined gowns for a turn on Channel Seven’s hit show, Dancing with the Stars.

Corinne is an accomplished stand-up, MC, presenter, writer and broadcaster and has performed both nationally and internationally: she has co-hosted successful national radio programs, performed countless solo live shows and appeared everywhere from the Sydney Opera House to the Kalgoorlie Arts Centre. Her natural, down-to-earth charm and her quick wit have made her one of Australia’s best known, and most warmly regarded performers.

Corinne is currently working on a book about Hoarding for Allen and Unwin to be released mid next year.
