10 Years Younger in 10 Days

Will Fennell

Will Fennell, grooming expert for 10 Years Younger in 10 Days grew up stealing his older sister’s skin care and makeup. By age 14 he knew his destiny was nothing less than “the pursuit of my own and other’s flawless complexions!”

To realise his dream Will moved from his hometown of Coffs Harbour to Sydney at 18, becoming the “only boy at beauty school”.

After completing his diploma, he ignored all the advice he was given about men and beauty care and in 1996 opened his first skin care clinic aimed at men.

He says, “Everyone told me it would never work, but I knew that all men needed was the ability to go somewhere that didn’t threaten their masculinity”.

Fennell still owns his male-friendly clinic, “Will and Peta”, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Over the past decade, Fennell has also established himself as one of Australia’s leading experts on men’s grooming.

Beyond achieving his basic credentials with diplomas in Physiatrist and Esthetics, and completing post-graduate education in Dermal Therapies, Remedial Massage, Reflexology, and Aromatherapy, Fennell moved onto the national stage when he was cast as the grooming expert on Australia’s version of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

He has since gone on to be a consultant for Nivea’s mens’ range and is the national trainer for BIOGRODA cosmetics.

Fennell is also the current grooming editor for DNA magazine and can be heard on his regular “G Spot” on Nova Melbourne’s “Stick Shift” radio program.

Fennell knows first hand the impact troubled skin can have on a person’s self-esteem, having suffered from acne as a teenager.

“When you have been through the trauma of bad skin you truly know what hating your own reflection does to someone’s self-confidence. My love affair with grooming and beauty began with a desire to help people who were going through what I had experienced.”

Even after weeks of filming, Fennell is clearly touched when the couples on 10 Years Younger in 10 Days see themselves for the first time.

“On day 10 the person we have been “making over” gets to see him or herself in a mirror. When I see the look on their faces, or the tears in their eyes that is when I know I am a part of something magical.

“Showing people their true potential and then giving them the tools to keep on this path is why I love what I do, it’s my passion” says Fennell who is teamed with stylist Jane Johnston and hair stylist Troy Thompson.
