This soon-to-be married couple presented our experts with their toughest challenge yet.

Wendy was lacking self-confidence and looking every inch her age.

Graham wanted them both to look ten years younger for their wedding day. Wendy’s polled age was reduced by 8 years – from 61 down to 53.

Graham came out on top – shedding 12 years – from 59 to 47.

All this in time for the big day!

Ken Thompson – Fashion stylist Good solid foundation garments were the starting point to Wendy's finished look.

Wendy was in search of a waist and Ken helped her get it back - highlighted by an amazing Cue black patent belt.

Wendy needed feminising on the top and a seductive pink satin Carla Zampatti top worked beautifully here.

Wendy did have fantastic legs and the Carla Zampatti black pencil skirt fitted her trim lower section like a glove!

Add to this the highest Leona Edmiston heel and she was French Chic on the run!

Cathy Savage – Beauty and Makeup expert Cathy curled Wendy's eyelashes (using Shu Uemera lash curlers) and applied false lashes (MAC) to compensate for her hooded lids and to help open her eyes up.

She also showed Wendy how to achieve a more flattering eye shape using makeup. Matt, shadowy colours strategically placed on the overhanging skin of the lid create an optical illusion of pushing the skin back.

By keeping the emphasis of depth on the outer top corners of the eye this will open them up. A more mature eye generally looks best with a line on the top lid only (avoiding black...instead try a dark brown or plum).

Keep the area underneath the eye clean or use paler colours.

Julianne McGuigan – Hair stylist Julianne’s challenge was to work with natural hair colorants for Wendy as she was allergic to hair colour. Julianne gave Wendy a feminine hair cut and shape reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn. Colour results were warm autumn tones.

DENTAL TREATMENT Dentist - Dr Fadi Yassmin

Wendy came to Dr Yassmin missing all her upper teeth which she lost when she was young and since then has not been able to eat certain foods.

Wendy had a dream to bite into a crunchy apple for as long as she can remember.

Treatment Provided

Photos and Radiographic records Photos and radiographic records were taken to allow accurate assessment of the existing dentition (development and arrangement of teeth in her mouth) and to give Wendy a visual view of the treatment needed. Preventative care (Dental prophylaxis) Deep scaling and polishing to remove the build-up of heavy plaque (also known as calculus and tartar) and staining on Wendy’s teeth, helping prevent cavities, further tooth loss and gum disease.

Oral hygiene routine Cariscreen and caries free rinse program. Custom trays of GC tooth mousse were created for home use, which will help prevent tooth decay (that can lead to cavities, pain, tooth loss and infection) and minimise intrinsic staining (white specs on teeth).

New full upper denture A full upper denture was created to replace her existing denture. With an excellent fit, the denture is very comfortable, and Wendy now no longer gets food caught under her denture. Lower partial denture Due to the tight time frame a lower partial denture was made. A precision fit was achieved by using special attachments on her new crowns.

Dental crowns Dental crowns with a zirconia base were constructed to help stabilise her lower denture. Teeth whitening BriteSmile whitening on Wendy’s lower anterior teeth matched perfectly with her new upper teeth. Custom trays were also made to give Wendy a whitening maintenance program to take home to help sustain her whiter smile. Result – Wendy’s now eating apples! Troy Thompson – Hair stylist Graham’s hair was unhealthy, unstructured and 90% grey in colour. Graham’s objective was to ultimately achieve the “modern man” look by aspiring to look like George Clooney.

The Initial Consultation – Tips Ensure you have an idea/image of what you want your hair to look like before your visit. If unsure, a photo image is always a good start. This allows for the hairdresser to understand the look you are trying to achieve.

Before your salon visit, please ensure your hair is washed and clean, try to avoid using any form of hair styling products as the hairdresser needs to observe your hair in its natural state.

Consultation Process

Colour During Troy’s initial consultation Redken Color Camo Medium Ash was used. However Troy observed that this colour was not dark enough. Redken Color Camo Dark Ash was then applied in order to achieve that “George Clooney” colour.

When shampooing Graham’s hair, Redken for Men Mint Clean Shampoo was used, followed by Redken for Men Cool Finish. As a result, Graham’s hair was left feeling fresh and clean combined with a fresh minty smell.

Cut Graham’s hair was completely out of shape, unstructured and needed to be restyled into more of a modern European style. In order to achieve this, Troy conducted a very basic hair cut by cutting 3.5 centimetres all over. This style was introduced to enable Graham to achieve his everyday look effortlessly. Moreover, Graham would be able to maintain this particular hair style on a daily basis.

Maintenance In order to maintain Graham’s new style and colour, a salon visit every 4 weeks is required.

Will Fennell – Grooming expert Will wanted to show Graham the toxicity level of his body by using iridology, an alternative medicine technique whose proponents believe that patterns, colours, and other characteristics of the iris can be examined to determine information about a patient's systemic health.

Will then talked to Graham about what he could do to get his system back into balance and thus turn back the aging clock.

Will also introduced Graham to the concept of “Male Grooming Tools” (make up for men).

Graham had dark circles around his eyes that could easily be hidden with a cover-up type product. Will showed him how to apply and blend the concealer so that it was not obvious that he was wearing it.

Jane Johnston – Fashion stylist The biggest challenge for Jane was Graham’s protruding stomach. There are a few visual tricks that assist in disguising the belly. Jane used strong vertical lines to ‘break up’ the visual.

This can be achieved by the use of a jacket, which also sharpens up the shoulders giving a stronger silhouette. The subtle use of pin-striping assisted in the overall lengthening of Graham’s shape.

Graham came to Dr Carr with missing teeth, generalised tooth decay, heavily restored teeth which were starting to breakdown, gingivitis (gum disease), and discolouration of his teeth. Graham's main concern was his missing teeth and the overall colour of his teeth. Treatment Provided: Digital Panoramic Radiograph On initial consultation a Digital Panoramic X-ray was taken. This enables dentists and their patients to get a complete, detailed picture of what treatment is required.
